In this piece I have evoked a mix of emotions—there is a sense of energy and movement in the layered brushstrokes and intersecting lines, yet the colour palette of deep purples, pinks and soft pastels adds a feeling of introspection.
The white grid-like patterns create a structured contrast against the chaotic textures, making it feel like a tension between order and disorder.
It gives off a sense of interconnectedness, as if everything is woven together in a complex but meaningful way. Depending on your mood, it could feel either harmonious or a little overwhelming.
These tensions in the piece are an expression of the often challenging feelings I experienced during menopause. Painting helped me process the wide range of thoughts and emotions that arose during this time that were often difficult to put into words.
